Education Ministry launches Special Campaign 6 for school cleanliness and e-waste management

The Department of School Education and Literacy announced on 18 October 2026 that it is implementing Special Campaign 6 from 2 October to 31 October 2026. The initiative focuses on improving administrative efficiency, cleaning school campuses, and managing electronic waste (e-waste) through Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE.

Education Ministry holds workshop to strengthen NMMSS scholarship verification

The Department of School Education and Literacy announced on 15 October 2026 that it held a regional workshop in Bhopal on 14 October 2026 to improve the implementation of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS). The scheme provides ₹12,000 per year to meritorious students from economically weaker sections to encourage them to continue education from Class VIII to Class XII.
