What we collect, and why
PublicFeed needs no account to read. We collect as little as we can.
Website
Pages are served from our own server, whose operational logs record requests, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting, and are kept for a short time. Visits are counted with self-hosted, cookieless analytics (Umami) on our own server; it honours Do Not Track and no third party receives your visits. Pages request fonts from Google Fonts. Share buttons are plain links and load nothing until you use them.
API and MCP server
To apply rate limits we count requests per IP address or per key in memory. Our usage logs keep a one-way, salted fingerprint of the caller, the plan, the path and the result, not your IP address or key.
Paid plans
Checkout is run by Gumroad as the seller of record. It collects your payment details; we receive your name, email address, purchase and license key, and use them only to provide the plan, answer you and send notices about it. Records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
If you write to us, for a correction or anything else, we use your message and address to reply and to fix the record.
Android app
The app saves the home edition you choose and your notification preferences on your device. It does not use GPS, require an account, or include advertising in version 1. Reading loads pages from PublicFeed; requests reach our server and may appear in operational logs, and app mode omits our website analytics script.
If configured and enabled, push notifications use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Google receives an installation identifier and the public location topics you subscribe to. The app does not send a GPS location. Notification delivery is optional and may be delayed. You can turn notifications off and reset preferences in Settings; clearing app data removes saved preferences. A local preview notification is labeled and is not a message delivered by Firebase.
People named in stories
Stories leave out personnel matters and notices about individual private people. Officials may be named when acting in their official role. To ask for a correction or removal, write to us.
Your choices and contact
You can ask what we hold about you, and to correct or delete it, by writing to raniendu.work@gmail.com. PublicFeed is independent and does not represent a government; summaries are produced with software, so read the original source for authoritative information. See also the terms.
