About PublicFeed

PublicFeed follows what public bodies publish and explains each item in plain words: who published it, what it means, when it applies and who it affects. Every entry links to the original so you can check it yourself.

Sources and numbers

36state editions with published stories
8source websites represented in stories
366updates explained so far

This table is built from the stories currently published on PublicFeed, grouped by their source website. It shows where those stories came from, not every source being monitored or every document a source has published. State editions group relevant stories; they do not imply complete coverage of a state's government.

Live source health and last successful checks are not available here. A missing source or update does not mean there was no activity. The story feed was last exported 23 Oct, 22:44 IST; this is not a check time for each source.

Weather and disaster alerts are shown separately from stories. They come from NDMA's SACHET service and retain the issuing agency's wording. They are not included in the story counts above.

Public tenders are also shown separately from stories. They come from J&K eProcurement and the Central Public Procurement Portal, in each portal's own fields with no AI-written text, and are not included in the story counts above.

How each entry is checked

  1. We retain source evidence. PDFs are read from text or page images; long documents may be read only in part. Press releases and other web pages, such as public consultations, are read as text.
  2. Software drafts explainers and checks extracted claims against source passages. Automated checks can miss errors.
  3. A separate automated review step checks drafts before publication. It may use the same model as the drafting step; this is not independent human verification.
  4. Budget allocation cards are compiled directly from source fields without an AI-written summary.
  5. Dates the order does not state are shown as not stated, never guessed.
  6. The original is the authority. If we differ from it, it is right.

What we leave out

Personnel business (appointments, postings, transfers and promotions), notices about individual people, and instructions that only concern government staff's own procedures. Statutory orders are always kept. Private individuals are never named; ministers and officials acting in their official role may be.

This is an early version. Nothing has yet been reviewed by a person, and software can make mistakes. A missing update is not evidence that nothing happened: PublicFeed only sees what its sources publish.
