Ministry of Tribal Affairs launches roadmap for tribal language preservation

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs announced on 15 October 2026 that it held the first meeting of the Working Group on Tribal Languages to create a roadmap for documenting and promoting tribal languages. The initiative centers on Adi Vaani, a platform developed with IIT Delhi that provides translation in nine tribal languages and access to over 300 primers.
