Government pushes for Panchayat-led management of rural water supply systems

The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, announced on 22 October 2026 that it held a virtual conference to align Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0 with 16th Finance Commission grants. Ministry of Jal Shakti pushes for scientific planning to secure rural drinking water

The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, held a virtual conference on 14 October 2026 to coordinate the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0 with the VB-G RAM G programme.
