Union Minister reviews safety and welfare measures for sanitation workers

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced on 22 October 2026 that Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar held a review meeting with the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis. The Minister called for the strict implementation of the MS Act 2013 and the use of mechanised equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to eliminate unsafe practices.

Agriculture Ministry launches upgraded Agri Welfare Portal for farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare announced on 19 October 2026 the launch of the upgraded Agri Welfare Portal. This mobile-friendly platform provides farmers with a single-window gateway to access government schemes like PM-KISAN, AgriStack, and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, as well as financial assistance via Direct Benefit Transfer.
