Government caps trade margins on 137 anti-cancer drugs to lower prices

The Department of Pharmaceuticals announced on 17 October 2026 that the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has capped trade margins at 30% for 137 non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs. This measure is expected to reduce the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of these medicines by up to 70%.

NIPER Raebareli and AstraZeneca partner to expand clinical trial sites in 25 regions

The Department of Pharmaceuticals announced on 14 October 2026 a partnership between NIPER Raebareli and AstraZeneca India to strengthen clinical research capabilities. The collaboration aims to build a trained workforce and inspection-ready sites in 25 emerging research geographies across India, moving beyond major metropolitan areas.
