New housing and healthcare facilities inaugurated at Karwar Naval Base

The Ministry of Defence announced on 17 October 2026 that new infrastructure under Project Seabird Phase IIA was inaugurated at the Naval Base in Karwar on 15 October 2026. The project adds 300 dwelling units for Naval Defence Civilians and expands the INHS Patanjali hospital to a 409-bed capacity.
