Government urges media industry to focus on original IP and global expansion

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting announced on 15 October 2026 that India aims to transition from a content market to a creator of globally competitive media companies. During the CII Big Picture Summit 2026, Secretary Shri Chanchal Kumar urged the industry to focus on original intellectual property and sustainable business models.
