MoSPI receives recommendations to modernize training for Indian Statistical Service officers

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) announced on 22 October 2026 that a committee has submitted a report to reform capacity building for Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officers. The report proposes a new framework based on seven priority capability pillars to prepare officers for advanced analytics, data governance, and emerging technologies.

Ministry of Statistics releases 121st issue of Sarvekshana journal

The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation announced on 14 October 2026 that the National Statistical Systems Training Academy has released the 121st issue of Sarvekshana, a bi-annual journal of official statistics. This issue contains three technical papers on social transfers, industrial efficiency, and sampling methods, as well as highlights from 2025 surveys on the unincorporated sector and labour force.

Government emphasizes modern statistical systems for development goals by 2047

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation announced on 13 October 2026 that a strong statistical system is essential for evidence-based policymaking to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
