Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organizes Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 in Mysuru

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced on 17 October 2026 that it is organizing the Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 at the Mysuru Dasara Exhibition Grounds. The event, which runs from 11 October to 19 October 2026, provides a marketing platform for artisans from Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, and Safai Karamcharis to sell traditional handicrafts and handloom products.

First Kanda Express onion shipment to reach Agartala by October 18

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution announced on 16 October 2026 that it is expanding the distribution of buffer onions from the Price Stabilization Fund to the North-East. A shipment of approximately 440 MT of onions is expected to reach Agartala, Tripura, by 18 October 2026 to ensure affordable prices before the festive season.

Government launches shipbuilding insurance and sets 2027 deadline for port reforms

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways announced on 13 October 2026 that the 21st Maritime State Development Council meeting in Mumbai has set new targets for maritime growth. The government launched two credit risk insurance products, the Shipbuilding Project Credit Risk Insurance Policy for export projects and the Business Credit Shield Policy–Shipbuilders for domestic projects, to protect shipyards from payment delays.

TRAI releases mobile network quality report for Thrissur District, Kerala

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) announced on 12 October 2026 the findings of Independent Drive Tests conducted in Thrissur District, Kerala, between 21 and 24 July 2026. The tests assessed voice and data quality for various telecom providers across cities, highways, and hotspots to inform consumers and encourage providers to improve services.
