Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organizes Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 in Mysuru

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced on 17 October 2026 that it is organizing the Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 at the Mysuru Dasara Exhibition Grounds. The event, which runs from 11 October to 19 October 2026, provides a marketing platform for artisans from Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, and Safai Karamcharis to sell traditional handicrafts and handloom products.

Government launches shipbuilding insurance and sets 2027 deadline for port reforms

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways announced on 13 October 2026 that the 21st Maritime State Development Council meeting in Mumbai has set new targets for maritime growth. The government launched two credit risk insurance products, the Shipbuilding Project Credit Risk Insurance Policy for export projects and the Business Credit Shield Policy–Shipbuilders for domestic projects, to protect shipyards from payment delays.
