The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship announced on 28 October 2026 that it held a national review to encourage Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to expand apprenticeship opportunities. The Ministry wants CPSEs to move beyond just numbers and focus on outcomes like certification and employment, particularly for women and under-represented groups. Enterprises are asked to create intake plans aligned with the 2.5%–15% apprenticeship requirement and appoint senior nodal officers to oversee the process. The release does not say when these directions take effect.
