Government partners with National Law Universities to reduce court case backlogs
The Ministry of Law and Justice announced on 14 October 2026 a research-based mission to address case pendency in 100 judicial districts identified as hotspots. These 100 districts account for over half of all district-court pendency, contributing to a national total of over 5.8 crore pending cases.
