NHAI issues new guidelines for toll plaza toilets and parking

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced on 23 October 2026 new guidelines to upgrade and monitor public toilets and parking areas at National Highway toll plazas. The rules mandate technical assessments for repairs, the installation of CCTV and lighting for safety, and the provision of at least one barrier-free toilet for people with disabilities.
