Government creates 11 crore Farmer IDs ahead of schedule

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare announced on 24 October 2026 that the government has created 11 crore Farmer IDs, completing the target by 23 October 2026, five months before the March 2027 deadline. These unique digital identities are part of the Digital Agriculture Mission to provide farmers with faster, transparent access to bank loans, crop insurance, disaster relief, and government schemes.

Government to establish Agriculture Council to curb fake degrees

New soybean varieties show potential to double average Indian yields

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare announced on 13 October 2026 that the ICAR–National Soybean Research Institute, Indore, held a Soybean Harvest Day on 9 October 2026.
